- A Liaison Librarian is a library staff member who has been designated as the formal contact person between the library and a specific academic unit (school, department, center, program) at the university. Liaison librarians are usually assigned to a campus department based on their training or experience. They are expected to serve as a communication bridge between the library system and their department and vice versa, to support teaching, learning, and research. Liaison librarians are tasked with providing training sessions, research support, and collection development for their departments.
