- [Scientific and social mission of university libraries – relations and importance in the light of performance and impact measurement] The article presents the goals and tasks to complete the mission of university libraries – supporting research and education as well as social mission. The libraries’ activity within this range has been analyzed in the light of the strategy of libraries’ and trends of their development. It also highlights the models of performance measurement and the libraries’ impact as well as the selected performance indicators for the Polish university libraries from the project “Performance Analysis for Polish Research Libraries” have been presented.
