  • This work makes a balance on the possibilities, scopes and limitations of the project-based learning as pedagogical strategy in the teaching of librarianship. It reviews specialized bibliography on the subject, both the one referred to the conceptual point of view and the one used mainly in the field of higher education. It also analyzes the experience developed with respect to the mentioned strategy, in different subjects of the librarianship career of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata and Instituto Superior de Formación Docente y Técnica No 8, from La Plata (Argentina). Finally, it concludes that project-based learning within the framework of higher education degree is shown as an appropriate strategy to bring the reality to those who are being trained in the discipline, strengthening the development of their skills and competencies when making contact with a concrete problem to solve.
