- The Pedro Grases Library faces the daily challenge of meeting the information needs and requests from the Metropolitan University of Venezuela, whose academic offer is mostly scientific and technical oriented. Through constant renewal of its resources and the development of the collections in these areas and with the creation or acquisition of resources and services to promote and train their users in their use and the use of information in general, partly to develop an autonomous user and justify the activities of the Library. Because of this the Information Competencies Development Program was created, it has been implemented for three consecutive semesters with the structure of instructional modules tailored to the needs of students, teachers or researchers who attend. This program takes into account the international and innovative educational models and technologies, as the independent learning in distributed environments: presential and nonpresential activities, use of resources and technologies of Web 2.0 and the Library 2.0, in addition the educational model of the Metropolitan University.
