- The article examines the role of library lending as one of the most important services guaranteeing information access. Also, it highlights the importance of intellectual property laws in managing library services. The public lending right is analysed, within the context of the right to distribution, and its characteristics and legal regulation are studied. Finally, public lending is addressed as a service and as an author right, in connection with the new information services now available in the digital world.
