- Archives and libraries are largely social organizations that allow the transfer of accurate and controlled information from generation to generation for different time periods. All kinds of materials produced for the purpose of carrying text are among the targets of these two types of information centers. Despite this goal, ephemera, which is produced mostly for the purpose of directing and informing in daily life, has not taken its place in the material group which has been interested enough until recently in the archives and libraries that create societies. The fact that efemeran was produced for different purposes other than certification and intellectual value sharing has affected the distance of information centers against this genre. In this study, first of all, the definition of ephemera on registration and conservation of local culture is emphasized; Evaluations were made on the usefulness of using ephemera collection. Then the compilation of the ephemera collections in libraries and archives in the world and Turkey, delineation, digitizing and putting into service have been made to compare the issues. After providing examples of the usefulness of standardization in these areas; in libraries and archives in Turkey regarding the development of discarded ephemera services it has been made suggestions for steps to be
