The extended economic & social competitive environments in which enterprises and organizations operates, increase the need for flexible and human-user oriented management. Academic Libraries and Information Services abroad and in our country also, do not constitute an exception. The team management in libraries consist a benchmark approach for the decentralized of power, aiming at the innovative actions of Librarians, and the improvement of quality and productivity of the provided services of information. This study initially analyzes the role and the importance of teams as well as investigates aspects of teams administration for Academic Libraries internationally and in Greece as well, examining theoretical and practical questions. Then, is argued the need and is presented the main aspects of empiric investigation for the Greek Academic Libraries in regard to a) recording of team characteristics and b) the examining of personnel’s opinions for the operation and administration of teams. The Scientists of Information in our country, if they are placed in suitable schemes of team work, may are able to constitute a lever of growth, affecting positively the management of Libraries and Information Services.
