  • This text expresses a contribution to the research project "Innovación curricular integral y articulada de los programas de pregrado de la Escuela Interamericana de Bibliotecología de la Universidad de Antioquia", proposed by the Inter-American School of Library Science (EIB), to the call made by the University of Antioquia (UdeA) to the curricular transformation of quality of all the academic programs it offers. Within the macro-project, there is an area called: "Epistemological foundations", which is part of the academic management of the project, and which seeks to define the theoretical perspectives that will give the path to the curriculum of the undergraduate academic programs of the School. As a contribution to this area, this research aims to show how the philosophy of information of Luciano Floridi, could offers to the library discipline in order to enrich the discussions of the component of the theoretical guidelines in the project mentioned above.
