  • The work aims to analyze the Collaborative Filtering and its relation with the indexation and with the study of users in specialized libraries. The use of recommendation systems in libraries is a reality, enhancing the process of findability of information during the search performed by the user, providing serendipity, as well as mediating between information and the user. There are several techniques, of little or great complexity, allowing the recommendation process take place. Collaborative Filtering is considered the most popular and widely applied technique in Recommendation Systems, and the suggestion process revolves around similarity among users. Additional methods and techniques are used in order to potentiate the generation of recommendations and / or solve the problems / disadvantages of this type of system, reflecting the scenario of constant development of the area of ​​Computer Science and the possibilities of application in the field of Library Science and Information Science.
