  • A sample of specialised digital collections, born in the field of humanities research, is analysed in order to outline the current phase of these collections, assess the strengths and weaknesses of these systems and propose possible future actions. For this aim, the digital libraries housed in the Aracne -Network of Digital Humanities and Hispanic Letters are selected as the object of study. Four blocks of analysis have been established that deal with the contents of the collection, the standards and data models, the user interface and the added values developed. The results show that the digital collections analysed represent a singular contribution, both as tools for researchers, particularly hispanists, and as regards their notable contribution to the dissemination of documentary heritage. It is proposed to enhance synergies with libraries and archives in order to improve the visibility and dissemination of these specialised research collections and the quality of data of heritage documentary institutions.
