- As a research in progress, a priori, the theoretical-methodological contributions that compose the research programs of CI's scientific production in an Ibero-American and Caribbean perspective, in an attempt to reconstruct the scientific field of the area from an analysis of publications of the Association of Education and Research in Information Science of Latin America and the Caribbean (EDICIC). It is configured as an exploratory-descriptive research, using data collection to the annals of EDICIC, from 2016 to 2018. At the end of the mapping, only three articles related to the searched terms are identified. There are indications that the diversity of terms associated with the lack of consensus may have favored the occurrence of noise among authors / articles, restricting the development of the research, which does not invalidate it. In opposition, this initial result serves as a warning for the delimitation of terms adopted in the area, which demands analysis of the terminological dimensions related to the field research programs, in order to identify a certain regularity of more pertinent terms in an attempt to soften or solve such diversification
