- This paper reviews, using a descriptive approach, the characteristics of analysis and description of the ancient photography available on Wikimedia Commons. Six collections have been selected, provided by GLAM institutions. On a selection of 60 images, it is checked if they have been described following the Dublin Core, ISAD (G) or Europeana Data Model metadata schemas. The results obtained allow to affirm that description standards and metadata schemas are not applied. The development of semantic labeling in Wikimedia Commons may be an approach that offers a solution to these deficiencies.
