- This paper aims to analyze the process of internationalization of undergraduate programs at the national and global context, seeking to identify trends and challenges in Library and Information Science. This is a theoretical study built upon a literature review. Initially, we present an overview of academic internationalization. Then, we discuss relevant aspects concerning the internationalization of education in library and information science (LIS), based on articles and selected information sources. It is observed that in Brazil there is only one article dealing on the topic. In conclusion, general recommendations are presented. At the final, references are presented (with abstracts) of the main articles about the topic published in the 2000s.
