- This contribution comes back to the question of indexation, which is part of a significant and revealing problem of the contribution of documentation to the construction of knowledge: 1) by focusing on the poles that have forged the history of thematic indexation and 2) by observing the changes affecting the criteria and the indexational environment of the Internet through the subject query. This study on the indexation of contemporary art wishes to continue the analysis of existing or potentially operative tools for the construction of online indexes.
