- Summary of a technical meeting. On 4 February 2004, a meeting of European experts took place in Luxembourg to analyze the methodology to be followed in order to obtain up-to-date and reliable statistics for the electronic information sector. It was the initial kick-off (as it has now been called the first activity of a project), from a study commissioned by the EC Commission to the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Dokumentation e.V. (DGD), the German Documentation Society. The Impact Program has the Information Market Observatory (IMO) office to collect data and produce sectoral reports of the electronic information market in Europe, and thus, knowing its strengths and weaknesses, to be able to act more effectively to stimulate and reinforce the European competitiveness.
