- This article manifests a present need in the disciplinary field of the teaching of Library Science, since it is detected in some cases that those who teach the librarian's training in the universities do not have a solid pedagogical didactic preparation that adequately accompanies the learning processes of future information professionals. We analyze the issues that may influence the lack of development of teachers in librarianship, how it has been taught over time, what roles a teacher should assume and what are the competencies that should be acquired, closing the work with an invitation to reflection to those professionals who practice higher education in this field so that they understand that the pedagogical-didactic capacities are very important when it comes to teaching.
