  • The April 2018 issue of the American libraries magazine, the ALA magazine, the American Library Association, is a monographic issue dedicated exclusively to the state of libraries in the United States in 2018, to take a photograph of the situation in which they find themselves, and detect and put on the table their main problems and current and future trends that have been detected. This year, this study was edited by Kathy S. Rosa. The monograph is divided into the following sections: first, an introduction is made to then analyze the situation of university, school and public libraries. Finally, the problems and trends are analyzed, both professionally and at the national level of the United States. A social, cultural and economic situation that is part of a context in which, as referred to in the presentation of the report, according to the Pew Research Center, an increasing percentage of the population believes that librarians and librarians they can help you locate and manage trusted and relevant information, while providing them with a safe work and leisure environment.
