- This study presents the state of the art about the developemente of information competencies in the center and west region of Argentina Republic during the years 2012-2013. The types of libraries analized were academic, educational, public/popular and school ones. This is an exploratory study with a quantitive approach. Four categories of training were worked, according to the level of guidance offered by the libraries and taking into account, as reference, similar international studies and literacy guidelines and principles of IFLA/UNESCO. It is observed that the progress of the INFOLIT in the provinces studied is quite similar and, it can be said, that its development is still emerging.
