- In today's society, technological users increasingly demand services and products in line with emerging demands. That is why the implementation of new technologies in libraries has revolutionized the way users access information, while managing innovations involves a constant challenge to be at the forefront. It starts from the concept of technology to offer an overview of the different types of technologies that exist today. Two business models applied to the generation of technological products and services are discussed and some relevant documents on technological tendencies in libraries are mentioned. On the other hand, the concept of innovation, its different typologies and the guidelines to be followed in the design of a new service are presented. Finally, two examples of innovative technological services are offered in the Library System of the Catholic University of Cordoba.
