- The development of a new management and functional model for the electronic academic library is presented, taking into account the management of both content and knowledge agents (i.e. scholars, researchers and students). This model proposes that the new role of the electronic library is to define and manage interchangeable scenarios for facilitating the creation, dissemination and use of knowledge. This is based on the history of the library, as well as on its tools and models for managing the processes of knowledge transfer that take place within it.
