- In Argentina, the national research policies in recent years show a clear orientation issues and social and local production problems amid tensions into the scientific community and promotion agencies and research evaluation between relevance and excellence of scientific results. The project PICT 2011-2183 "Argentina as a study in scientific production with regional and international visibility. An approach to the study of the Argentine thematic domain", accredited by the ANPCYT, main objectives characterize the scientific production visibility in regional sources and international issues and circumscribed doomed to "Argentina" domain thematic issues; and analyze and describe the profile of researchers and composition of the collaborative networks that make up the scientific communities studying these issues. This paper aims to present progress of this research project and reflect on the conceptual and methodological problems addressing a bibliometric study of this nature based on the information in bibliographic databases and recovery options and download the information they provide.
