- Letras is the journal of scientific dissemination of the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences of the National University of San Marcos and was founded in 1929 by the then dean Jose Galvez Barrenechea. The magazine Letras has a portal developed in Open Journal Systems (OJS) and is published electronically since 2003. The periodicity of the journal was an annual but to get indexed in SciELO had to change its frequency from the year 2013 to appear semiannually. The journal has several sections: studies, notes, lectures, journals of journals, reviews. A quantitative descriptive analysis was conducted in two periods: 2003-2015 and 2014-2015. First, it will reveal the impact of the magazine Letras in Google Scholar and SciELO; the second, to know the characteristics of the articles published in the journal. For the analysis of the articles only the first two sections of the magazine (Studies and Notes) were taken. For evaluation they were used numbers 121 to 124 corresponding to the volumes 85 and 86.
