  • The purpose of this presentation is to announce aspects referred to the units of information dependent on the National University of Cordoba, in what concerns his organization and functioning. It is a set of more than 25 libraries, insert in Faculties, Schools, Institutes of investigation, pre-university Colleges and head offices. It is begun by a historical synthesis mentioning the most ancient libraries up to coming to the current conformation of the set, with his characteristics as for typology, services, collections and users. This situation generates a multiplicity of realities that are solved in different ways, since every library is located inside a flowchart and possesses his own regulation. From there there arises a certain antinomy that might be characterized as "autonomy vs. dependence", especially in the libraries of the schools or institutes that answer to a top authority . In the following paragraphs one refers to the creation of the Advice of libraries of the UNC, his aims, way of functioning, criteria of incorporation and exclusion, and regulation. A transcendent point for the functioning of any unit of information is the Budget. There are mentioned the way of financing of the libraries, , policies of acquisition, principal disadvantages and challenges. Regarding the human resources in the libraries of the UNC, are mentioned: the form of revenue to the system, staff formation, common needs to the institutions. The services related to the cooperation describe collaborative actions. Finally, one refers to the projection of this set of libraries, from the need of a strategic already initiated planning, which will have to facilitate joint policies, unification of criteria, programs that they benefit to the whole users' community and actions tending to the organic growth of the university units of information.
