- Analyzes 12 softwares used in Metric Studies of Information: BibExcel, CiteSpace II, CitNetExplorer, CoPalRed, LoetLeydessdorf, Network Workbench, Science of Science, VosViewer, HistCite, Pajek, Publish or Perish and Scholarometer. This study found that the informatic programs presented four levels of data manipulation: recovery, preparation, analysis and data visualization. The methods of data analysis used are bibliometric mapping, geospatial, thematic, temporal and network analysis. The input sources data includes: Web of Science, JCR, Scopus, PubMed, arXiv, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic Search, NASA ADS, National Science Foundation.
