- The contributions of Wheatstone and Brewster on stereoscopic vision, in parallel with the development of photography, make stereoscopic photography already in 1850 a reality. Driven by contributions from Duboscq, it crystallizes at the London International exhibition of 1851. However is the appearance of the binomial: Wet collodion for plates and albumenized paper for positives, which promotes mass production of images in this format of all the known places. It is in this context in which emerges the need to commercialize a Spanish collection that is materializing in first place by the publishers and French photographers: Carpentier, Gaudin, Ferrier, Lamy... They were followed by local photographers: Laurent, Masson, and others, although in general with a production remarkably lower. Stereoscopic photography lapses around 1880 to increase at the end of the century, by both publishers and amateur photographers, very especially in the Catalan area. The article is contained in the catalan and Spanish languages.
