- Considering the universe of “information actions” performed in Instituto Brasileiro de Informação em Ciência e Tecnologia (IBICT – “Brazilian Institute for Information in Science and Technology”), this study aimed to categorize the “means-actions” and “finality-actions”, bringing their inputs, products and serviços. After going through contextualizing themes such as intermediate information systems, intermediation of information in science and technology (S&T) in Brazil and IBICT acting in the scenario of information and S&T, information actions were approached in their generic dimension – based on intermediation of “meta-information” for the creation of “meta-informational maps” – and in their transversality – in courses that go through social and institutional instances. Arguments were presented for the table elaborated making way for the appreciation of the “selective and stratified character of information actions”, as well as evidence of the role of IBICT’s information intermediation in the scenario of information in S&T in the national context of Brazil.
