  • Since the beginning of music's cataloguing was a need to use the musical incipits to identify and study the works. Currently is being used “Plaine & Easie Code” alfanumeric language because it is easier to storage and management in the computers, but it is convenient to change to a graphical representation because it is easier to read for the users of music catalogs. This article include a proposal the use of free software to obtain the musical incipits graphically, and develope a script to translate from “Plaine & Easie Code” to Lilypond, a music engraving program.
