This paper presents the activities carried out by the so-called Metrics Group, in charge of achieving one specific goal of the "Institutional Repositories: applications and experiences in universities in Buenos Aires Province (Argentina)" Project (PICTO-2010-0149 - 2012/2013). This objective includes the study and analysis of usage metrics of digital objects deposited in Institutional Repositories, in order to define a reference framework which could be applicable on a national level.
