- The social web usage introduced in the world of scientific research equip researchers with new possibilities to share resources and results in a quicker way, it also increases its reach and positionates the academic research in highly participative environments. Tools such as reference managers, scientific data-bases, research platforms, scientific social networks and initiatives like the Open Access systems promote research development and public result dissemination. This study presents the results of a survey conducted among researchers of Universidad de Salamanca to determine their perception about the use of social web tools in relation to their research activity.
