Daftar Isi:
- This paper is part of a research project running by the two authors about the general subject of The Epistemology of the Information Scince in dialogue and was preceded by another, more initiatory, presented in EDBIC III conducted in 2008 by the University of Salamanca. In this ongoing project objective to treat the main epistemological issues not only on Information Science, but also the area where it falls most directly - the information and communication sciences - and in more general level, the Applied Social Sciences. And objective is also to debate them with insights and ideas which differ in some central points, especially, among them, the defense established around the interdisciplinary profile of Inforation Science, in line with postmodernist and relativist placements rather generalized worldwide, particularly in Brazil, and its opposite, namely the assertion of a domestic and crossdisciplinary status for the Information Science, which has been postulated, supported and implemented in programs for graduate and post-graduate of the University of Porto. This paper will focus on the issue of paradigms, contrasting the four listed by Capurro to the two major paradigms proposed by Silva & Ribeiro, and in light of the proposed paradigm seek to show which of them are presented in post-graduate programs of Information Science taught in Brazil and Portugal through the analysis of objectives, theoretical basis and the exposed studies plan.
