- The research developed had the purpose to verify the influence of the Open Access in library and information science community of the Federal Universities of the Northeast Region of Brazil in order to answer the following question: What are the effects/consequences that the “green road” and the “golden road” of dissemination of information bring to scientific communication? To this purpose, the method applied combined the qualitative and quantitative approaches. To collect data we used questionnaires and interviews. In this article, we will show the results of the inquiry applied to teachers of library and information science courses from the Northeast Region of Brazil that will be approached in this work show clearly the impact of the OA in Brazil and, in a very specific way, in the academic communities mentioned above.
