- Making the database available on the Internet is one of the best ways to make it more popular. Such approach allows to reach potential users all over the world, but it must be done in a proper way, compatible with the rules of the global network. It is especially important to publish the database in a way which is friendly for basic tools of the majority of Internet users–WWW search engines. Well published database should be indexed by popular search engines and should feed these engines with most important data from particular records in a way which is compliant with these search engines expectations. Beside it is also important to provide functionality supporting easy reuse of published data. The aim of this paper is to present selected good practices related to making databases accessible on-line.
