- The aim of the research was to evaluate the knowledge and perspectives of students of the School of Library Science (SLC) on Information Management (IM). On the specific objectives sought to identify the professional interest in deepening the theme and acting as the Information Manager; to point if, in view of the research subjects, the librarians and information managers activities are attributable to both professions; were compared the similarities / differences regarding the Management of Information among Professionals Complementary Course (PCC) and trainees subscribed in the course "Information Management", to consider whether the subject "Information Management" contributes to better visualize the activity of Information Management. The method that characterized the research was exploratory. The research took place at the Universidade de Campinas, specifically in School of Library Science. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire that contained questions about the socioeconomic profile of respondents and issues related to IM. The participants were 17 PCCs and 18 trainees, duly registered in the discipline of Information Management in 2009. It was found that the subjects involved in the study had good knowledge of the activity of IM would like to act as managers of information and also had an interest in furthering their knowledge attending graduate school.
