- RDA - development of standards for the 21st century (translation of the title). RDA (Resource Description and Access) is the new international cataloguing standard for libraries, archives and museums. In May 2012, the Committee for Library Standards passed a resolution to introduce RDA in German-speaking countries. Some of the different bodies, committees and working groups on international and national levels engaged in the implementation of RDA are portrayed in this article. Furthermore, the status quo and the plans of the cooperative RDA project in Germany, Austria and parts of Switzerland are presented. Finally, some of the practical consequences of cataloguing according to RDA are highlighted.
