- More and more monographies, encyclopedias and further single works are published electronically today. The products available comprise various business models. They vary from single titles to limited collections with or without selection of individual titles up to a complete year’s production of a publishing house. These different products lead to the fact that workflows in the libraries have to be differentiated according to the respective product. On the one hand the respective individual product has to be selected; on the other hand the circles of acquisition and processing need to be adapted to the respective individual product in order to limit the amount of work necessary. The contribution discusses which effort results from the selection of the matching product and the acquisition and processing of the respective workflow, in order to contrast the entire acquisition costs of different business models.
