- The interest in preserving in digital format and dissemination materials produced by prominent authors of a country provides good reasons for gathering researchers in the humanities in university libraries. Using the example of the development of the ARCAS archive project of primary sources of notable authors, it is shown the fruitfulness of possible interactions in a scenario characterized by the synergy produced by the development of cooperative projects. The antecedents of the project and the intervening actors are presented. The main decisions that FaHCE (UNLP) and IdHCS (UNLP-CONICET) and their library had taken are described in a detailed way, taking into account their organization, the availability of human resources and the existing technological base that is necessary for the success of the project. At a more technical level, the main characteristics of the generated prototype and the first phase of implementation are presented. Finally, as a conclusion, the future challenges demanded by the project are stated, which require the construction of an integrated platform of primary sources that considers the needs of research groups with heterogeneous profiles.
