- Different definitions of Technological Surveillance are given – including objective, scheme and stages of the process – they all coincide in the fact that it is a systematic effort by the organizations to monitor relevant facts of their scientific, technological and business setting. This continuous activity makes it possible to detect essential information sources; relevant information on inventions, novelties, technological trends, competitors, potential partners, etc. is extracted; and information is timely disseminated upon decision makers. Joomla! content management system is shown as a professional, flexible and free tool making it possible to have an information system to support the stage of disseminating Technological Surveillance results. Finally, a Joomla!-based Technological Surveillance service, including a Website and a subscription and bulleting-emailing system, is presented as a specific solution.
