- With the participation of professionals from eight countries (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay) is developing the research project “Assessment of Documents in Latin America”, approved by the Program Committee (PCOM) International Council on Archives. This article then describes the project, the work methodology, scope, expected results to an end and the progress of work a year after the II International Forum-II Assessment Documents-FIED in the city of San José de Costa Rica (2010). Therefore, the results are given by internal working groups and which are concentrated in the following way: 1) Approval of documentary screening programs, 2) Terminology document evaluation, 3) methods, criteria, approaches and techniques to assess archival records, and sampling and 4) evaluation of electronic / digital.
