- Terminology databases are “the record of concepts or terms to be used for research, where data are supported by references, definitions and other auxiliary information in order to under stand and use them better”. As it is a typical tool of archiving, it becomes a supporting element for the understanding and comprehension of the real contention an organization in terms of documentaries. In short, this study gathers the essential elements that shape the structure of terminology databases (in the absence of concrete theories), records the history of the studied area, the progress made specifically on terminology databases and the specific achievements that contribute to this research process, as well as the method used and the type of research; finally, the outcome is presented, which solves the formulated problem and some of the discussion points that move towards a reflection of our archiving reality.
