  • The concept of digital literacy has been confined mainly to the technical aspects and the use of ICT (Information and Communications Technologies). This vision has prevented a holistic with respect to the role of digital literacy in both teaching and learning processes, and society. This paper aims to review the literature and theory for understanding the evolution and transformation of the concept of digital literacy and the need for training in this regard, of the Cuban school teachers of hospitality and tourism, also describes practical experience in courses and methodological activities aimed at training of teachers in some areas of the application of ICT in teaching and research. The methods used were a literature review and analysis of content. It was found that the development ofinternettowardsweb2.0hasbeenthe main change that has led to the reconceptualization of digital literacy of teachers. The literature review allowed knowing the theoretical foundations that allowed us to understand this digital literacy. As a result of early training measures for teachers, school of Cienfuegos, improved the quality of the theses, articles and other research work and are able to implement several courses in the Moodle platform.
