- The right to information (DI, for its initials in Spanish) has been a relevant matter in different areas of knowledge. Different studies of the subject allow an approach from different perspectives; however, its appropriation and assimilation has had no impact in the Colombian community. The present article shows a revision of the state of the right to information in Colombia, the first results of the investigation from the freedom of speech, a second glance from the defense of the Constitution and right to information and finally a third glance of information as a fundamental right. The progress review in the investigation suggests that the DI-law-archive in Colombia has been weak, and the country does not have the necessary scientific competencies for the conceptual and technical development of DI as stated by the law.
