- The Scientometrics Laboratory redalyc.org-fractal (LabCrf ®) is introduced as a proposal of a regional re- search group. It aims to develop alternative indicators based on scientific research output and coauthorship at various levels: country, area, institution, etc. through an alternative and more comprehensive approach with the classification of the production and collabo- ration in: institutional, national and foreign. This methodology offers a different view about the role that actors are performing in scientific communication by analyzing the world’s scientific production published in Latin American open access journals of redalyc.org in the period 2005-2011.
