- Aims to make a diagnosis of the situation of the national libraries of South America on the use of standard descriptive metadata structure and standards of contents in the cataloging of content and its relationship with interoperability aspects of data collections. The research will approach and use qualitative and quantitative data collection and the online questionnaire. Expected to map the adoption of these standards used in these libraries, comparing such information with the needs required for interoperability between management systems and libraries to better understand the ways of cataloging in these libraries, given the possibility of differences in patterns that can adopted in each country, in order to reduce or even avoid rework cataloging, and streamline this area for the development of new studies on the standards adopted.
