- The Internet is beginning to play an important role in scientific communication in the environment as humanists. The purpose of this article is to determine the extent to which open access online journals and scientific digital repositories are used by historians specializing in the study of the history of the People's Republic of Poland - the group of humanists whose work made available in an open access interest are not only researchers, but also of many other social groups and professional - passionate history. Will be presented systematic of electronic journals and open repositories for scholarly communication that uses this group of researchers. An attempt will be made to determine how the subject of the work affects the possibility of their publication in the open access journal historiographical that are placed on the ministerial list of magazine, and thus provide not only access to a wide range of researchers - which can translate into an increase in the number of citations – but also allow to gain points for the assessment of the employee. The analysis will also be publishing phenomenon of the historians in the areas of Internet, which indeed provide the widest possible access to readers, but does not affect the career progression (non-point electronic journals, repositories with the texts of scientific papers). Author acknowledges fact that the specificity of science communication in this discipline includes not only researcher-researcher relationships, but also passionate researcher.
