  • In recent years the agenda on research about information users has centered on the search for a theoretical foundation that made more rigorous the research process and the search for the most appropriate methodology for the study of the various aspects of information search process. Regarding the theoretical foundation, it has been a proliferation of models for the study of these aspects, which has impacted positively on the research done in this field. Regarding methodology, it is possible to see greater diversity of approaches, unlike in the past. However, despite the significant achievements in the theoretical and methodological, a gap still exists as a result of unresolved motivations and needs that guide user research units information. In this situation, it is necessary to seek necessary and possible interaction between the process of user-centered research and management cycle of an information unit via a feedback to determine future courses of action, both in the field of research as in the management information units.
