- This article is presents how the agreement for electronic journals used in the Consortium of Academic Libraries of Catalonia (CBUC). A technical office negotiates on behalf of the consortium members, prices and conditions of use of information resources. Acting cooperatively strengthens the purchasing power and decision the consortium that profit in the deal: improved conditions, number of users, access to more content and less cost. The main aspects that are negotiated are the economic conditions and terms of use, duration of contract, number of users authorized, obligations and responsibilities of libraries, guarantees and indemnities, and which material is resource-subscribed. The article focuses on the negotiation of terms.
