- This article reflects on the use of digital media, through the blog, to record and disseminate the knowledge of residents of a popular Brazilian urban community, aiming to promote citizenship and social benefits. The research is anchored in the social responsibility of information professionals, seen as facilitators in the process of communicating information. The “Blog da Comunidade Santa Clara” has become a tool for virtualization and holds a significant variable in the awareness of residents about the value of information that represents your treasure of knowledge. In this context, cyberspace provides the production of new knowledge for future generations of this community.
