- Recently, in the library software market have appeared some products developed from document management systems (DMS) and relational database management systems (RDBMS). Combining the benefits of both products, it is possible to automatically manage the information handled by a library and, what is more important, to facilitate carrying out additional developments without the need for data processing staff. This alternative to the traditional integrated library systems (ILS) packages allows to develop applications taylored to each library. This will result in some way to what has traditionally been called "turnkey solutions".
