- Various formats to perform editing documents in machine-readable format are proliferating. The race for hegemony in control "electronic document" only just begun. Each company or group of companies has its own rules. Who will prevail? This report analyzes the technical characteristics of the major formats and standards available in the market to place electronic information products. An increasing number of "documents" that are published in computer-readable form. And, thanks to the "media revolution", they can contain text, numerical data, graphics, images (still or moving) and / or sound. But it can easily happen that the various electronic information products that are produced are isolated from the rest because they are not adjusted to standards that will facilitate consistent management of heterogeneous products. This can produce the paradoxical situation of increased products and electronic information services, but do not grow at the same rate the facilities for the public at large access to all of them.
