- Copyright daily practice shows that this legal topic doesn ́t deals with general cases, but those that have to be analyzed from the perspective of its own particular circumstances. With this background, we will address the case of those information users who wish to obtain the fulltext of journal articles and are not able to do so given the lack of subscriptions or licenses. To address this point we will analyze the contractual arrangements between the author of the article and his employer, as well as the legal relationship between the author and his publisher. To narrow the jurisdiction under which the contents will be discussed, we will cite the Mexican law as well as the general principles dicated by international treaties on the matter.
